Political Theater is a podcast hosted by FRC writer Martin R. Schneider and WHYY writer Marta Rusek, which explores the connections between real-world politics and pop culture narratives. For the full list of episodes, click here.


Political Theater’s second episode takes on the importance of a free and independent press, and explores movies about the press, especially in terms of campaign coverage.

This episode explores the world of journalism and “fake news”, including how they affect political campaigns. Films discussed include The Campaign (2015), The Ides of March (2011), Primary Colors (1996), Network (1976), and Good Night and Good Luck (2005). Special guest interview with former Philadelphia Weekly editor Stephen H. Segal.
