Christmas Creeps 58: Rocky IV

Christmas Creeps is a podcast in which FRC writer Joseph Wade and his co-hosts crack wise about holiday movies and specials in search of the “True Meaning of Christmas”. They do this all year round for some reason. For more episodes, visit ChristmasCreeps.com

In case you hadn’t noticed, the FRC crew has taken the last month or so off for various and sundry reasons. Vacation plans, school, work, the holidays, it’s all collided into a seasonal stew of getting absolutely nothing done on the FRC front. But not to worry, friends. We’re hard at work behind the scenes to bring you new content in 2018!

In the meantime, Joe & Co. return with another episode of Christmas Creeps! Enjoy their Boxing Day special, in which the Creeps tackle Rocky IV. Get it? Cuz it’s a boxing movie? Believe it or not, the final act of the film does actually take place on Christmas, so by some bizarre miracle this movie actually counts. Anyway, in this episode, the gang discusses the gross jingoism of movies from the mid-to-late 80s, the MTV-style production of the film’s 4000 montages, and why Siberia looks suspiciously like Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
